Yoga to stretch and sooth the mind and body.Hatha Yoga aims to achieve balance between the body and the mind, as well as attempting to free the more subtle spiritual elements of the mind through physical poses or asanas, breathing techniques or pranayama and meditation.
Yoga allows you to focus purely on yourself for the next hour or so, forgetting all of your outside issues. By breathing slowly and deeply, relaxing any tense muscles. By using the asanas (poses) to stretch and counter stretch - loosening, toning and lengthening your muscles; balancing out your body; becoming more graceful and fluid in all of your movements, even your day to day activities. Creating a mind/body connection, helping you to further understand your mind and body, becoming more aware of yourself. Learning to respect your body and its limits slowly allowing your body to adapt and your practice to grow. Using the relaxation at the end of the sessions to absorb the benefits of the asanas, totally relaxing the body and mind. Leaving the practice feeling chilled-out, with increased flexibility and more in tune with yourself.
Classes can be designed around you, creating a progressive plan that allows your practice to develop and grow.
Classes can be one to one or small groups.
Yoga can provide great stretching for those of you who are cyclists or runners. It can help stretch out those tight hamstrings and chests and help re-align your body and mind.
